As part of our ongoing commitment to developing the Learning Hub, we are making an important change that will enhance how contributors manage and share their resources.
What is changing and why?
The Community Contributions feature on the Learning Hub is being retired and in future, all contributions to the platform will be made through a catalogue.

While Community Contributions played a valuable role in enabling open sharing during the phases of the Learning Hub’s development, our data shows that a significant proportion of resources in this Community Contributions space are now rarely accessed.
Catalogues on the Learning Hub offer contributors and learners a more structured, efficient, and user-friendly experience. Moving forward, all resource contributions must be made using Learning Hub catalogues.
This change means that the ability to upload new resources on to the Learning Hub as a Community Contribution will be removed, but all existing resources which were previously uploaded as a Community Contribution will remain accessible.
Learning Hub catalogues
Catalogues are dedicated spaces, they provide contributors with enhanced functionality that allows them to:
- group resources into folders and subfolders
- share curated collections of resources with specific audiences
- manage content more easily in one place
- view engagement data to understand launch trends
- create brand identity using a catalogue logo and banner
- restrict the catalogue if access needs to be managed
By transitioning to catalogues, resources are easier to find, maintain, and update. This can benefit contributors and learners with an elevated experience on the Learning Hub.

Over the past few years, we have seen how administrators have developed their catalogues, and there are some fantastic examples of how organisations and teams have used the catalogue and resource functionality innovatively, from delivering national training initiatives for colleagues across the NHS, hosting induction and elearning materials for staff in NHS Trusts, through to building repositories of regional teaching recordings and slide decks for resident doctors.
Have you got some ideas for how you could use a catalogue on the Learning Hub?
Creating a catalogue
Now is a great time to create a catalogue on the Learning Hub – it’s very simple to get started!
Reach out to our friendly team who will be pleased to provide a demonstration of the Learning Hub and share the form to request a catalogue. Don’t forget to visit our support site where you will find lots of handy tips for using the Learning Hub.
If you have previously contributed learning resources as a Community Contribution on the Learning Hub, we encourage you to take this change as an opportunity to refresh your materials, remove outdated items, and move your resources to a catalogue, to present your work in a more impactful way.
Thank you for your continued contributions to the Learning Hub.
