The Learning Hub – a learner-led platform

Alex-Drinkall

Communications and Stakeholder Lead

In only four months since the Learning Hub was launched there have been more than 600 resources contributed to the platform by the health and care workforce.  There is space for many more resources so please remember the platform is there to be populated by you to make it the successful collaborative tool it is being designed to be.

The Learning Hub is a new digital platform that provides easy access to a wide range of resources that are pertinent to education and training in health and care. Organisations and users can contribute and share resources for those in health and care to access.

During the Discovery phase of the Learning Hub project the appetite and need for a community platform that could facilitate collaboration through conversation was highlighted.  The platform’s ability to enable resources to be shared, thus reducing duplication and supporting innovation, was also a key requirement for the Learning Hub’s development.

Now in its Beta phase the Learning Hub is a platform that hosts resources contributed by the health and care workforce for the benefit of colleagues working throughout the UK.  Designed based on user needs and feedback the Learning Hub enables a wide range of resources to be contributed and shared at scale encouraging nationwide and multi-professional collaboration.

The Learning Hub platform can provide the tools and the infrastructure but only the resources shared on the Learning Hub will deliver its success.

Commenting on the learner-led success of the Learning Hub Dr Neil Ralph, Head of Technology Enhanced Learning at HEE said: “We’re keen the health and care workforce see the Learning Hub as “their” platform and contribute content, search for resources contributed by others and share useful links, via social media or by direct URL, with colleagues too.

“Contributing content is an easy process and literally takes minutes to do.”

If you or your organisation have resources to share and contribute to the platform, with appropriate permissions, please visit: https://learninghub.nhs.uk and select “Contribute a resource”.  You can sign in to the Learning Hub either using your e-Learning for Healthcare Hub or NHS OpenAthens username and password or by creating a new account on the Learning Hub.

If you have any questions or would like to find out more about contributing resources to the Learning Hub please email: enquiries@learninghub.nhs.uk.
